Opening Season

Match 6: BALLISTICS vs. 18 Buddhas, Sunday, April 18, 1999. Score: 18 Buddhas 12, BALLISTICS 5. The refs weren't quite on top of things this match and we were stuck with late subs (and a big mistake that is currently undergoing protest) on both sides...18 Buds just ran better when they were in trouble :P. Buddhas opened up with strong radar bombing tactics getting lucky (=)) kills on larg and myself. Larg and I came back strong getting three kills between us put us in the lead, but alas, our fortune was about to change for the worse. 18 Buddhas regrouped with some odd zen-chanting tactics and unleashed the full fury of the holy llamas on our unfortunate souls. With the exclusion of two kills by Fuz to try and slow them down, they swept through us as rep after rep failed us. I had the honor of being the 1st eliminated so blame it on me :P Next time we challenge these guys I think they'll be in for a little surprise. Ace

  • FUZION 2-2
  • Ace-High 2-3
  • Largo 1-1
  • Gunstar (subbed bort) 0-1
  • Gargoyle (subbed Largo) 0-2
  • Bortas 0-2
  • Kepi (subbed fuz in rematch) 0-1

Match 5: BALLISTICS vs. Apathy, Saturday, April 10, 1999.Score: BALLISTICS 12, Apathy 7. Apathy came out hard and fast with a quick 4-1 lead. But we rallied at the appearance of Kepi in spec to turn the tide. Finally at 5:5. Just b4 I lagged out, I managed to kill the same bad guy twice in quick succession eliminating him to set up the power play. I don't know much about what happened after that, but I saw Largo up to his cold, bloodthirsty antics and he managed to steal the mvp away from me because I wasn't there at the end of the match :P Towards the end we had a lot of subs and the team effort pulled us through (and 2 of the bad guy's lives were converted to deaths due to lagout which didn't hurt ;) Ace

  • Ace-High 4-1
  • Largo 3-1
  • Gargoyle! (sub) 1-0
  • USS Stardestroyer (sub) 1-1
  • Gunstar 1-2
  • Fuzion (sub) 0-0
  • Unka 0-1
  • Kepi (sub) 0-1

Match 4: BALLISTICS vs. CrestFallen, Sunday, March 28th, 1999. Score: BALLISTICS 12, Crestfallen 7. This was a great matchup...friendly fire got us our 1st kill and it set the stage for a real nailbiter. We had a little trouble stayin' tight, but when we did, blues died. Keep those yellows close, and we will keep climbing in UL. Agent's persistence (chasing those lone blues down: naughty Agent) and Bort's nasty new weas skills nabbed 2/3rds of the kills. We were down 6-5 once, w/ Largo and his subsequent substitute having connection probs...congrats to Van for staying alive with 0 reps for most of the match and props to Agent for getting the third kill on TheCrow to open up the 4 on 3. Ace

  • Bortas 4-1
  • AgentSteel 4-1
  • Gunstar 2-3
  • USS Stardestroyer (subbed agent) 1-0
  • vandal (subbed larg) 0-0
  • Largo 0-2

UL Match 3: BALLISTICS vs. )(MasteR)(, Sunday, March 21st, 1999. Score: BALLISTICS 12, )(MasteR)( 2. It was a Chaos squad showdown. )(MasteR)( started with turret, we leached their reps and picked them apart for their 1st lives. The rest was mostly we stuck together more than them...Gunstar stole the show and I lost two lives screwing around w/ levis and lancs. Ace

  • Gunstar 6-0
  • Largo 2-0
  • Kepi (subbed USS) 2-0
  • USS Stardestroyer 1-0
  • Ace-High 1-2

UL Match 2: BALLISTICS vs. DeviouS, Sunday, March 14th, 1999. Score: BALLISTICS 6, DeviouS 12. We started strong, kept tight and got the first kill. Vandal lagged out, we missed his long-bombing lancaster ass sorely, and our little swarm split up too often, every one of our deaths was when that pilot was isolated. Largo did shine well in this match, our only saving grace, great work man. Next week we'll turn things around. Bort

  • Largo 5-3
  • Kepi 0-3
  • Vandal 0-0
  • Kepi 0-3
  • Ace-High 0-3

UL Match 1: BALLISTICS vs. Gods, Saturday, March 6th, 1999. Score: BALLISTICS 5, Gods 12. A great opening mach, we opened strong with the first kill, then I promptly died. We tagged another one of them, then Ace and I both died, 3-2 Gods. I subbed out for Vandal, who took over in a Lancaster. Had lots of trouble sticking to our opening plan, and too each other. Was a great way to open a season tho, against a very difficult team of mostly pro leaguers, who are mostly nice guys :P Bort

  • Cavitation 2-3
  • Ace-High 2-3
  • Largo 1-3
  • Bortas 0-2
  • Vandal 0-1
